Emergency Information

In case of an emergency such as fire, a car accident or acute health problems call 112 to reach the emergency dispatch centre. Be prepared to answer the following questions:

  • What has happened?
  • Where are you calling from?
  • How many people are injured?
  • What phone number are you calling from?

Emergency Doctor Service

If you need to see a doctor within normal opening hours – weekdays between 08.00 and 16.00 – contact your General Practitioner.

If you need to see a doctor outside normal opening hours – after 16.00, at weekends and on public holidays – you must call the emergency doctor service at (+45)7011 3131. You should, however, only use the emergency doctor service when absolutely necessary.

If you are injured and need immediate care in hospital you should go to the emergency room (skadestue) to the address on the right, but always call first at (+45)7011 3131 (only Aarhus and Herning) and tell them what is wrong. They will tell you what to do.

If you live in Copenhagen, find the number and address in the column to the right.

In Denmark patients and patient journals are treated confidentially. Consequently, the only persons who have access to your personal information are you and your doctor/medical advisers. However, in case of serious illness or accident during your study in Denmark, we encourage you to contact the International Centre. Generally, if you have concerns regarding personal or health related issues, you are always welcome to come by the International Centre for a talk.
