E-mail guide

How do I log in?

Either use the link 'web-access to e-mail' on mit.au.dk or log in on https://post.au.dk with:

  • username: your AU matriculation number
  • password: the same as on mit.au.dk

My e-mails are not being forwarded

From 'Options' you can select 'Settings' and configure 'Mail forwarding'.

A $ might erroneously have been added to the forwarding address or combine two forwarding addresses. Remove the erroneous $-sign if that is the case. If you still have problems, you should remove the forwarding addresses and assure that 'K eep copy of message in Inbox' is marked. Then you should at least receive mail in your post.au.dk-mailbox. Also, be patient, and let the server finish the configuration. When this works, you can try to add a forwarding address again.

Setting up your an e-mail client

All students at the University of Aarhus have an AU email address. That address will be used when the University contacts you electronically, which might happen in connection with exam registration, cancelled classes, invitations to relevant events, information about exam deadlines etc. You are also very welcome to use the address for private correspondence. We do not monitor the contents of your inbox.

When you want to read your email you can do so by logging onto the email system through the online Self-service, but you also have several other options for checking your email. On this page you will find several guides that will help you to start using your AU email address regardless of your chosen email program and setup.

Happy emailing!

Try the web-access through mit.au.dk: Click on 'Web-access to e-mail'. If you can see your mail here you should check your setup for spellingerrors etc.

You might also have a problem with your forward-addressing - se below.

New times at au.dk/en

The university’s website is being redesigned. The design and content will therefore change, and you may experience for a while that old and new sections are mixed together, and that the content is not in its usual place.

We hope that the new website will make up for any inconvenience, and that you will enjoy greater coherence throughout and find the website simpler to use.

Why are we making a mess?

In the time ahead, you will notice a mixture of old and new designs in the pages on the website.

In spring 2011, Aarhus University’s nine main academic areas were reduced to four, and the fifty-five departments became twenty-six. This was to unify the organisation and to strengthen the university’s interdisciplinary approach. We are now following suit by restructuring the entire website to ensure more coherence in the content and design.

Such an exercise takes time – and we hope you will bear with us!

Take a short cut

Under the HOT KEY at the top right, you can find links to the most frequently used content on the website, as well as the two new universes for staff and students.

Where can I find it?

Use the new mega dropdowns to get an overview of the website’s content. They open when you run your mouse over the navigation at the top.
