ECON Data and Software Lab

Workshops introducing you to software tools and resources for empirical research and writing reports.

Dear students

To help students become acquainted with standard software tools and resources for empirical research and writing reports, the department of The Department of Economics and Business Economics offers the students the opportunity to participate in the ECON Data and Software Lab (EDSL).

  • When: Fridays from 9.15 to 12.00 in weeks 7-11 and 13-19.
  • Where: Room is 2627 - 008 (H8), building 2627

Students are free to suggest (within the scope of the course) what they would like to learn at the  weekly tutorials. Furthermore, at the workshops students can get software and text editing help for their thesis.

At the workshops there will be introductions to tools that are used for:

  • Text editing
  • Reference management
  • Programming
  • Graphical presentation
  • Data extraction

EDSL is open for all no matter the year of your student ID. Registration is not necessary.

The course will run as a “study café” allowing students to ask questions and get help with technical problems.

We look forward to seeing you!

Best regards
