Examination timetables

On the following pages you can find the examination timetables with your exam dates.

Please notice that reexamination dates can be found in the timetable for the following exam period.

  • Why are the exam schedules not published sooner?
The exam dates are always published as soon as possible. However, the individual study programs at ST complicate the planning and furthermore, the exams cannot be planned before registration for reexamination has closed.

Advanced exams (exams in courses cancelled due to semester structure)

If you during the academic year 2016/2017 have taken an exam in a course, which will be excluded from the study programme as a result of the semester structure, and you still have at least one examination attempt at your disposal, you will be offered an advanced attempt, i.e. an exam that is moved forward. You will only be offered an advanced attempt, if you have qualified for participating in the ordinary exam.

As the courses are no longer offered, you must register for the advanced re-examination, unless you have an exemption from the board of studies. The advanced re-examination is your last chance to participate in these exams!

Times for the advanced exams:

  • Advanced exams for courses with teaching in Q1 and Q2 2016 will be held in August 2017
  • Advanced exams for courses with teaching in Q3 and Q4 2017 will be held in week 42/week 50/week 51

You will be contacted directly via your AU e-mail in June with a description of how you register for the advanced examination attempt/re-examination, which takes place in August. In the same way, you will be contacted directly via your AU e-mail in late September or early October with a description of how you register for re-examination, which takes place in week 42/50/51.

The exam period for August is Tuesday, August 1 to Tuesday, August 22. The exam schedule for the advanced exams will be published along with the rest of the exam schedule of re-examinations in late July 2017.

First-year students

Advanced examination attempts are offered in all courses that are included in the first-year exam, so that first-year students have the possibility of 3 examination attempts in courses for which the mandatory programme have been approved.

If you have not met the requirements for taking the exam - e.g. by not living up to the registration requirements for exams in one or more courses, you must apply for an exemption from the board of studies. You apply for an exemption via mit.au.dk under "Applications".

Exemption for postponement of first-year exam

You can only apply for an exemption from the first-year exam when you have used all 3 examination attempts. This means that if you fail your third examination attempt in August in the courses with teaching in Q1 and Q2, you must apply for an exemption as soon as possible hereafter. If you fail your third examination attempt after the exams i week 42/50/51 in the courses with teaching i Q3 and Q4, you must apply for an exemption as soon as possible hereafter.

You can read more about the possibility of exemption and how to apply under the menu option "Student guidance" and "Exemptions". You are also welcome to contact the Student guidance if you have any questions about your options.
