You must fill in a Master's thesis contract in the Contract Generator.

There you will find guidance on how to create at contract. 

Registration for the Master's Thesis

  • You will find rules and guidance for registration for the Master's thesis under the menu item "The study progress reform" in the menu on the left.
  • Before starting your thesis project, you must hand in a thesis contract (see specific deadlines below) - remember also that your Master's contract must be updated so that it contains all the courses that constitute your Master's degree.

Master's theses commenced in spring and fall 2016

For students following the stipulated study plan, the following deadlines apply regarding registration and submission of a 30 ECTS thesis:

(1)    The thesis contract must be signed by the student, main supervisor and programme coordinator
(2)    The assessment is the latest date and includes the protocol submitted to ST Study Administration

For students not following the stipulated study plan, you must complete your thesis within the time frame stated above (i.e. a thesis amounting to 30 ECTS credits must be completed within 5 months). These time frames include assessment (0.5 months), and therefore a 30 ECTS thesis project must be handed in 4.5 months after commencement at the latest.

These time frames include assessment (0.5 months), and therefore a 45 ECTS thesis project must be handed in 7 months after commencement at the latest.

Course activity in parallel with your thesis no longer offer extended deadline for the submission your thesis, when contracted after September 1, 2016.

Master's theses commenced in spring 2017

Course activity in parallel with the thesis project no longer offers an extended deadline for handing in the thesis.

For students following the stipulated study plan, the following deadlines apply regarding registration and submission of a thesis:

* Please notice – If a deadline for handing in falls on a holiday or in a weekend, the next weekday will be the date that applies (at 12:00).

* 45 ECTS only applies for Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering

These time frames include assessment (0.5 months), and therefore a 45 ECTS thesis project must be handed in 7 months after commencement at the latest.

Submission of Master's thesis

The Master’s thesis must be submitted on the date stated in your contract, no later than 12:00. If the deadline is a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, the next working day before 12:00 will be regarded as submission on time.

On the front page you have to write your name + student number and name/names of supervisors. If your thesis includes confidential information and may not be disclosed, this should also be stated on the front page. Please also remember that  the thesis must be signed, however, this does not have to be on the front page.

 

For students at Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology and Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technical Geology:

  • The Master’s Thesis must be submitted to Helene Bøgelund Christiansen, Ny Munkegade 120, building 1520, room 117

If Helene is not in, you can submit your thesis to another member of staff in building 1520 or 1522.

You have to submit a copy for each supervisor of your Master's thesis, one for the external examiner and one for the archive. All in paper versions.

 

For students at Mechanical Engineering and Civil and Architectural Engineering: 

  • The  Master’s Thesis must be submitted to Maja Frank at Navitas - Study Service office room 03.101 

If Maja is not in, you can submit your thesis to another member of staff in the Study Service office.

You must hand in one copy for each supervisor, one for the external examiner and one electronic version for the archive (on CD or DVD).
