Why attend summer school?

Summer school allows you to experience a foreign study environment, improve your language skills, and earn ECTS points during the summer holiday!

A large number of universities offer short courses during the summer period. A summer course at a foreign university is an exciting alternative for students who do not wish to spend a whole semester abroad.

Summer school study places through AU

Each year, AU is offered places on summer schools in selected countries (typically Europe, India and China). We advertise these continually on this website, and currently places at the following universities are available

• Chinese University of Hong Kong
• Fudan University, Shanghai, China
• Harbin Institute of Technology, China
• National Chengchi University, Taiwan 
• University of Helsinki, Finland
• University of Hyderabad, India

On your own initiative

Summer school is available covering virtually all courses in almost all countries. The easiest way to find out information about summer schools around the world is to search on 'summer school' or 'summer university' on the internet. You might also add the country or the subject area you are interested in. When you travel on your own initiative you should remember that you will most likely have to pay a course fee, in addition to your travel and living expenses.

Another option is to participate in AU's Summer University, where you will have the opportunity to earn ECTS and meet international students and teachers – all right here in Aarhus!
