Hvorfor tage på sommerkursus i udlandet?

Et sommerkursus giver dig mulighed for at opleve et udenlandsk studiemiljø, for at styrke dine sproglige færdigheder og for at optjene ECTS-point i sommerferien!

Rigtig mange universiteter udbyder kortere kurser i sommerperioden. Et sommerkursus på et udenlandsk universitet er et spændende alternativ for studerende, som ikke ønsker at opholde sig i udlandet i et helt semester.

Pladser gennem AU

Hvert år får AU tilbud om et antal gebyrfri pladser på sommerkurser i udvalgte lande (typisk Europa, Indien og Kina). Der er ikke nogen generel ansøgningsfrist, så gå ind og klik på links herunder for det enkelte universitet og orienter dig om indhold, frister og eventuelle krav.

Studiepladserne fordeles blandt andet ud fra følgende kriterier:

  • karaktergennemsnit
  • studieanciennitet
  • særlige krav fra partneruniversitetet

Forhåndsgodkendelse og merit

For at kunne søge en plads, skal du som udgangspunkt have en forhåndsgodkendelse fra dit studienævn. Forhåndsgodkendelsen sikrer, at du kan få merit for dit fag, når du kommer tilbage fra dit ophold. For at vurdere din ansøgning har studienævnet typisk brug for minimum en beskrivelse af dit studieprogram samt fag- og eksamensbeskrivelser fra værtsuniversitets hjemmesider. Normalt søger søger man om forhåndsgodkendelse via mit.au.dk

Det er muligt at ansøge og få en plads uden en forhåndsgodkendelse. I tilfælde af, at der er flere ansøgere end pladser, vil ansøgere med en forhåndsgodkendelse dog blive prioriteret.

King's College, London 2018

London Undergraduate Summer School: Session One: 2 July – 20 July 2017 / Session Two: 23 July – 10 August 2018

There will be over 30 modules on offer for summer 2018 which cover academic study in the Culture & the Arts, Business, Health, Law, and the Social Sciences.

All modules are fully assessed and consist of a minimum of 45 contact hours. Students will receive a final mark on their Participant Record of Achievement (transcript). Each module is equivalent to 3-4 US credits or 7.5 ECTS.

Hokkaido Summer Institute 2018

 

Hokkaido University (HU) launched the Hokkaido Summer Institute (HSI) in 2016.

In 2018, more than 160 researchers from over 110 universities/research institutes from around the world will gather at HU, and provides educational courses in collaboration with HU faculty members.

Tuition fee will be waived for AU students who enroll in the program as exchange students.

Tsinghua University, Beijing 2018

Experiencing China: Summer Programme 2018

Located in Beijing, the national capital of China, Tsinghua University has a rich and interesting history. Tsinghua was founded in 1911, and is firmly among the ranks of China’s best universities.

Programme Information

The two-week summer programme offers a star team of multidisciplinary tutors who will facilitate team projects, site visits to spaces of contemporary or historical significance and round-table discussions. The programme will culminate in a forum to be designed and facilitated by students themselves. The forum will exhibit their discoveries and insights in China, and promote their collaborative problem-solving proposals developed during the programme. Scholarship Details

The scholarship covers the following:

· Registration fee
· Tuition fee
· Housing (on-campus accommodation for international students for two-week period, mainly en-suite single rooms)
· Basic accident insurance for two-week period in Beijing

Students are responsible for self-funding airfare costs, healthcare costs, medical insurance, tourism and living expenses.

Nordic Centre Fudan, China 2018

AU is a member of the Nordic Centre at Fudan University in Shanghai. The following two summer courses are available through the Nordic Centre in the summer of 2018:

1)   Chinese Politics and Society

Dates: 28 June -11 July 2018
Level: Undergraduate and graduate
ECTS: 5
Participation fee: RMB 800

- The summer course Chinese Politics and Society is an intensive two-week course at Nordic Centre, Fudan University. Nordic Centre is a collaboration between Fudan University and 26 Nordic universities, and facilitates cooperation within education, research, and culture.

The course provides students with fundamental knowledge about Chinaˈs political landscape from the founding of the People's Republic in 1949 till today, and it gives students insight into China‘s role both locally and globally:

• approximately 50 hours of lectures/presentations/ visits

• project reports (app. 5000 words, to be handed in after the course)

• supervision offered by instructors

• required readings (app. 250 pages, details will be distributed well before the beginning of the course)

2)   Doing Business in China

Dates: 13  -26 July 2017

The aim of the course is to introduce the students to the basic principles of doing business in China. These include a framework for understanding China, the local business culture, business-government relations, legislation, production, as well as China’s macroeconomics. The course includes:

• supervision offered by instructors

Fudan International Summer Sessions 2018

 

Fudan University International Summer Session 2018 (July 11 - August 9) will provide a 4-week course study and cultural experience to students from all over the world. Students will have the opportunity to get to know China, experience Shanghai and be part of the Fudan community.

This program will help you achieve multicultural understanding, establish a global vision, and get connected with peers from all over the world. Fudan University International Summer Session 2018 offers
20 content courses, 4 Chinese language courses at different levels and 2 PE courses.

In addition we offer historical and cultural visits. The content courses will cover a range of topics in History and Culture, Society and Politics, Business and Economy, and Science and Technology. Each content course is designed as a 39-credit-hour course (except for “Lecture Series on Chinese Economy and Society” which offers flexible credit options), each level of Chinese language as a 40-credit-hour course, and each PE course as an 18-credit-hour course.

Students can choose one to three content courses, and the Chinese language course and PE courses are optional. After successful completion of the course study, students will be awarded a program certificate and an official transcript from Fudan University. Students who wish to transfer Fudan International Summer Session credits back to their home institutions are advised to consult in advance with the appropriate academic authorities at their own institutions.

Nordic Centre India 2018

For 2018 Nordic Centre India is continuing it's short-term summer courses for Nordic students in India. The courses are as follows:

 

Contemporary India: An Interdisciplinary Introduction Course
India Partner: Study in India Programme, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad

Dates: June 24th to July 21st 2018
Capacity: 50 students
This is an undergraduate level introductory course that serves as a primer to the changing dynamics in India by focusing on a wide range of topics that have immediate relevance, including politics, economy, society, religion, and development. Students will learn and discuss contemporary trends in Indian politics and the effects it has on the economy and various socio-cultural stratifications characteristics of India. This intensive course will feature daily lectures, field visits both rural and urban, and various other engaging academic exercises. 

Approaching the Environment in India: Issues and Methods in the Study of the Nature-Economy-Society Interface 
India Partner: Institute for Social and Economic Change, Bangalore
Dates: 1st to 28th July 2018
Capacity: 24 students
This is a post graduate level course that introduces students to the context and challenges related to India's urban and rural environment. Students will be taught how to conceptualize the interface between society, economy, ecology and environment in the Indian context by being introduced to various themes that highlight the narratives, ground realities, policy dilemmas, civil society movements, gender perspectives, etc. The course is intensive in terms of both lectures and field trips. Field trips in particular will be used to elucidate micro level perspectives related to urban and rural ecology. Lectures will not be limited to researchers but a greater emphasis will be on showcasing experiences of practitioners' and administrators'.   

The courses are available in the 7.5 ECTS variant and the 10 ECTS variant. The course structure remains the same with the exception of additional coursework for students opting for the 10 ECTS variant.

Chinese University, Hong Kong 2018

Six tuition free places at the International Summer School of the Chinese University of Hong Kong are available to students enrolled at Aarhus University.

ISS 2018 will come in two sessions: the five-week July Session that covers a wide variety of academic topics and the three-week August Session that exclusively offers intensive Chinese language courses.

Academic studies will be accompanied by a range of activities, events and field trips that immerse students in the international environment at the ISS as well as the unique East-meets-West character that epitomizes Hong Kong. The ISS will be held at the CUHK main campus in Shatin, Hong Kong. All courses will be taught in English (with the exception of Chinese language courses) by outstanding CUHK and visiting academic faculty from overseas universities.

The courses offered at the International Summer Program are taught at bachelor's level. See list of courses.

As a guideline one CUHK credit is the equivalent of 2 ECTS point. However, please note that it is the board of studies at your department that decides how many ECTS credits you will be awarded for the course.

There is no tuition fee but all other expenses connected with the summer school will be the responsability of the participating students.

University of Nottingham Ningbo, China 2018

University of Nottingham, Ningbo is offering three exciting courses, each is worth 10 ECTS credits and lasts between two and three weeks.

 •             The Rise of China

•             Doing Business in China

•             Mandarin for Work

Students can choose one of the three courses or choose two courses by combining ‘Mandarin for Work’ either with ‘The Rise of China’ or with ‘Doing Business in China’.

Utrecht Network Summer School Hidden Libraries 2018

One of the Utrecht Network summer schools 2018 will be the second edition of the successful HIDDEN LIBRARY school.

It will take place in Graz from July 2-13.

There are a number of historical libraries in Europe and elsewhere that are inaccessible or are not accessible to the scientific community or public. There are also book collections that are endangered because of their state of preservation.

The theme of the summer school will present different elements of a hidden library with particular focus on manuscript fragments. It aims at creating awareness on the issues connected to such collections in order to better preserve this kind of European heritage. It also offers various tools that help make visible on our screens what is so far hidden on shelves.

The summer school within the Utrecht Network is open to students at bachelors, masters and doctoral level from the following fields of study: Library Science, Book History, Codicology, Book Conservation, Metadata and Cataloguing, Digitization Techniques, Cultural Heritage, Digital Humanities.

Linköping University International Summer Academy 2018

Linköping University's International Summer Academy gives international students an opportunity to study abroad for one month. They have several high-quality courses to choose from and will gain cultural insights together with other international students from all over the world. All courses are taught in English and are full-time.

- Introduction of International Summer School in Harbin Institute of Technology

Founded in 1920, Harbin Institute of Technology has developed into an open, multidisciplinary, research-oriented, leading national university with science and engineering as its core, encompassing management, liberal arts, economy and law as a whole. In 2009, HIT became a member of Top 9 (C9) in China. HIT is now well on its way towards achieving the goal of being a world—class university, which is a leading engineering university ranked in the world’s Top 6 in US News 2018.

About the Program

The International Summer School program will run from July 2 to 27 in 2018. This program offers a wide variety of English-taught courses in cultural studies, literature, economics, international relations, as well as Chinese traditional physical exercises and sports. It also provides Chinese language courses for beginners. All courses will be held at HIT main campus. Students will receive an official transcript and earn academic credits from us and many students can transfer these credits back to their home universities upon completion of the program. - Chinese Language & Cultural experiences
There are courses in Chinese listening, speaking, reading, and grammar, ancient Chinese, and Chinese culture. We also offer the Chinese cultural experience activities, which include Chinese painting, Chinese cuisines, Chinese paper cutting, traditional culture lectures, etc.
- City exploration
We will visit the places of interests in Harbin, such as, Sun Island, Central Street, Baroque Style Street, Kanto Ancient Lanes.
- Seminar on “The Belt & Road Initiative” You will further understand the development of “The Belt & Road Initiative” and the basic theory in management consulting and policy analysis, systematic specialized knowledge.

WETELL, A UTRECHT NETWORK SUMMER SCHOOL

- Innovating Storytelling to Address Civic Awareness in the Post-digital Age

Have you ever thought of media as environment?

Do you know what is performative storytelling? 

How do you understand civic awareness within our global and globalized societies?

WeTell Summer SchooAccessl will help you to navigate these timing issues.

WeTell Summer School focuses on the art and practice of PERFORMATIVE STORYTELLING to promote civic awareness among European and International students living in a hyper-technological but unequal environment.

The WeTell summer school will run from June 4th to June 15th 2018 in Bologna.
Credits: 6 ECTS
Morning lectures will take place at LILEC – Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures, University of Bologna. You will engage with theories and practices of storytelling approached from a variety of areas of studies and professions. Afternoon activities (seminars, workshops,  field work and hackathons) will take place in a variety  of city institutions, in collaboration with the City of Bologna and its famous and varied cultural network.

COSTS & FUNDING

Thanks to the support of the UTRECHT NETWORK, students can enroll at a particularly accessible fee of 800 Euros, covering all course costs, tuitions, accommodation (in double room) and board for the entire period of the Summer School (2 full weeks at the University of Bologna).

Travel arrangements have to be made and paid for individually.

You will stay at Ospitalità S. Tommaso (4 minute walk from the University and the city centre).
