Information for participation and SIGN-UP

How to participate:

Rule number 1: Do not panic! We will help you through the process, and you do not need to have an idea when you start.

Sign-up by filling in the short form here 

Sign-up is non-binding, but ensures that you will get all the relevant information by email. You can sign up at any time during October before handing in your solution.  


Pick one of the three challenge areas that you expect to be working with.

  • Create a 1-3 person team, or participate in the matchmaking at the kick-off event
  • Come up with a solution to the chosen challenge, and describe it in one of the following ways:
    • 2-5 A4 pages
    • 2-5 minutes video
    • 1 A4 page combined with 1 minute video
  • Submit your solution no later than the 29th of October at 12 noon to kontakt@nova-aarhus.dk
  • Participate in presentation training if nominated 
  • Participate in the final (6/11) if nominated
  • Workshops will be held to assist you in problem identification, innovation and presentation technique (optional).

Formal rules for participation:

  • Teams consist of 1-3 people
  • At least one person from each team has to be enrolled as a student (bachelor, master or PhD) at Science & Technology at Aarhus University. 
  • The solution presented by the team cannot form basis of a business or a company before the competition
  • The solution made by the team has to be presented in a public forum
  • You can only hand in one solution

Finalists and prizes:

  • All solutions are screened, and three teams in each challenge category are chosen to present in the final.
  • The winning team in each category will receive 10,000 DKK. The two other teams will receive 2,500 DKK each.
  • The solutions are evaluated by a jury consisting of the Dean and relevant industry partners. 

Evaluation criteria:

  • Innovation - how original is the solution? (30 %)
  • Presentation of solution (20 %)
  • Societal impact factor (20 %)
  • Business case - can the solution be realized? (20 %)
  • Diversity of team - has the team benefitted from different educational backgrounds? (10 %)
