AU Mail and data protection

Aarhus BSS will send all information to your AU mail from May 25, 2018

Double check your AU mail!

Keep a watchful eye with your personal AU mail. From May 25, 2018, Aarhus BSS will send all emails to your AU mail, the mail address that ends with ‘@post.au.dk’.

This is due to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) from the EU that becomes effective from May 25, 2018. The regulation place greater demands on how Aarhus University as a public institution will process your data. An important part of this is that Aarhus University can only send emails to secure email addresses. Your ‘@post.au.dk’ is a secure address. We therefore encourage students to use their AU mail when corresponding with AU, lecturers and the study administration.

As part of the transition to meet changing demands of the  General Data Protection Regulatio, Aarhus BSS Studies started using e-Boks for letters containing sensitive personal information from June 1, 2017. We now supplement this, as all emails will be sent to the personal and secure the AU mail.

You used to be able to forward emails from your AU mail to your private mail. This is no longer possible. However, from your personal study portal, mitstudie.au.dk, you can access your AU mail and see the last three emails in your inbox.
