Our neighbours in the University City

The University City is home to more than just employees and students from Aarhus BSS. Are you curious to know who it is? We have compiled an overview of who will be living here in 2026. More will come

Universitetsbyen 52
Building 1821

The former patient hotel has been converted into 132 student residences of various sizes for students at Aarhus University. The accommodation consists of one- and two-room flats, equipped with private bathroom and toilet and with access to a shared kitchen. The students therefore live close to where they study and work, which helps to bring life to the area around the clock.

Universitetsbyen 71
Building 1850

A new community has emerged in the 1850 building. The partner house functions as an environment with business facilities, entrepreneurial companies and workshops. The users of the building are small and medium-sized enterprises, foundations, organisations and start-ups that collaborate with Aarhus University. The idea is that users will be able to rent space, but it will also be a meeting place where facilities can be used for a fee.

Universitetsbyen 76
Building 1860. The department is located in the former boiler house and hospital laundry.

Kitchen, Aarhus University is a meeting place for entrepreneurship and innovation. Kitchen assists companies, municipalities, and organisations in gaining new perspectives on specific challenges through collaboration with Aarhus University and its talented researchers and students.

Universitetsbyen 81
Buildings 1870, 1871, 1872, 1873, 1874 and 1875

Research at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics ranges from basic research to applied research in molecular biology. The institute works with plant molecular biology, bioinformatics, neurobiology, RNA biology and innovation, protein science, cellular health, intervention and nutrition.
