Buildings and facilities

Please keep the place tidy!

Unfortunately, the maintenance/cleaning staff and gardeners don’t have the time to do ALL the cleaning on their own, so we need the students to help.

  • Please help us to keep Aarhus University tidy (both indoors and outdoors). For instance:
  • After using cutlery and tableware, please take it back to the cafeteria/café
  • Use the appropriate waste disposal bin for all your rubbish – both indoors and outdoors

Saving energy

Students can help to make a big difference when it comes to saving energy. This will help the environment, but it will also help a big organisation like AU to save a lot of money.

What can you do to save energy?

  • Turn off the lights when you leave an empty room
  • Use the stairs rather than the elevator
  • If you spot a running toilet or dripping taps, please inform the maintenance staff
  • Turn off the radiators when airing a room

Alarm instructions:
All buildings are equipped with alarm instructions, telling you what to do in case of emergencies.

General security measures: For security reasons (for yourself, for your fellow students and to protect our buildings), it is important that you do not use your student ID card to let anyone else into AU buildings. For instance, if you and a fellow student want to access a building outside normal opening hours, you must both bring a valid student ID card with you. You may be asked to present your student ID card when you are on AU premises. Please note that you should never leave valuables unattended.

You should always close the windows when you leave a room.

Always contact the local maintenance staff if you have any information about suspicious-looking individuals or situations constituting a security risk.
