Access to the building

The doors are open from 7:30 in the morning to 16:00 in the afternoon on weekdays.

To access the building outside of the opening hours, you must activate your student card so it works as an access card to the building. You must type your four digit pin code followed by # to unlock the doors (once your card has been activated).

You can find the library at Katrinebjerg in the Nygaard building, Finlandsgade 21, 8200 Aarhus N.

IT support, printing and wireless internet

IT support
The IT support at Katrinebjerg is located in the Nygaard building, Finlandsgade 21-23, 1st floor, room 198.

Usually, the opening hours are from 9.00-13.00.

Canteens and kitchenettes

There are two canteens near Hangøvej 2. There is a large canteen in building 5520, Åbogade 15, Incuba Science Park, and a smaller café in the Nygaard building at Finlandsgade 21.

There is a kitchenette on the second floor.


You cannot have private mail sent to an AU address.

In relation to project work, it may be necessary to have mail/packages sent to Katrinebjerg from companies. In this case, please make sure that the following is stated clearly on the package: Aarhus University/ENG, name of recipient, student number and address.

Booking rooms

Rooms for group work, papers, exercises etc.
Rooms are pre-booked for scheduled teaching, supervision and project work.

Rooms that are not booked may be used by students who book these smaller classrooms or project rooms via WebRoomBooking:

  • Log in using your username and login.
  • Click on the tab in the bottom right corner and follow the instructions on the screen.

Workrooms which can be booked via WebRoomBooking, will not be locked.

Available workspaces for studying can only be booked one week in advance. You can book for a maximum of 4 hours at a time between 8.00-16.15.

If the booked workspace is not used within 30 min. from the booked start time, the booking expires and the workspace can then be used by other students.

When classrooms are not booked, everyone can use them for study-related work without making a reservation. However, in the exam periods, the rooms may be booked for exams. If you use the rooms, please leave tables and the green tablecloths where they are.

Safety and fire

It is important that everyone is aware of his or her own and others' safety. Always make sure to read the safety and user instructions before using any of the equipment.

The building is equipped with an acoustic warning system that will inform the users of the building of what to do in case of fire. The building is also equipped with a sprinkler system that will start fighting the fire automatically.

In the event of fire or accidents

  • Stop/contain the accident if you can do so without putting yourself at risk.
  • Call 112
  • Evacuate the area/building if necessary
