The Master’s thesis is the final part of the Master’s degree programme, cf. section 21 subsection (6) of the Danish Degree Programme Order.

As a result of the study progress reform the thesis is regarded like any other teaching in terms of the demand for compulsory registration for 30 ECTS credits per semester, so the demand for compulsory registration is more important than the rule that your degree programme must end with your thesis.

All students on Master’s degree programmes who have passed or done exams for all previous subjects or modules as of 1 September 2015 will be registered automatically for the Master’s thesis and must enter into a thesis contract as soon as possible afterwards. If you want to conclude courses that you have used exam attempts in, but have not yet passed, you must apply for an exemption to do so.

Any deadlines for the thesis contract will be published on this website. If you are in doubt whether or not you will be signed up for the thesis, you can always ask the student counsellors.
