Record-breaking ESSAM Summer School in Aarhus

2008.04.11

On 22 June 2008, 110 students from all over the world will be arriving for the MBA summer school organised by Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus

ESSAM – the MBA summer school organised by Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus – is attracting a record number of students this year. On 22 June, 110 students from all over the world will meet at the conference centre in Skåde Bakker for two weeks of summer schooling. This is almost 40 students more than last year. Participants come from as far afield as Australia, the USA, Canada, the UK and continental Europe, while ASB's own BSc and MSc students make up 20 per cent of admissions.

- This is the highest number of students for many years and about the maximum number we can take, says Anne Dorte Wieben, International Coordinator at the International Office at ASB. One reason is probably that the ESSAM consortium has been joined by a number of new partners who have made a real effort to promote the summer school. At the same time, the existing partners have travelled and worked hard to promote the summer school.

Even though the deadline for registering has expired, any applications received from now on will be put on a waiting list, so there is still a small chance of being able to join the summer school.

Theme: Europe and Advanced Management
The theme for this summer is Europe and Advanced Management, while students will also be working on a specific case involving a local company with an international outlook. The lecturers are elite researchers from all over the world, and activities will involve a mix of lectures, group assignments, presentations, discussions and individual reading. A consortium of eight universities in Canada, the USA, Australia, the UK and Denmark is behind the ESSAM Summer School.
