Summer University off to a flying start

The U wing at ASB will once again be transformed into an international academic melting pot when Summer University 2007 opens its doors to students and lecturers from all over the world.

What began as a pilot balloon in 2006 has now come off to a flying start, and no less than 140 highly qualified lecturers from all over the world have applied for a visiting professorship.

The massive interest has come as a positive surprise for International Coordinator Dorte Føns Sørensen:

- We knew that last summer's participants had a really positive experience, and the fact that our Summer University has become this popular means that we can now offer 21 exciting courses where students can earn bachelor and master level credits. The courses are held from 16 July to 3 August and from 6 August to 24 August, so that students can sign up for more than one subject
within the same area, Dorte says.

- By attending a summer university, students achieve more flexibility and can in this way avoid prolonging their studies, and, as an added bonus, it looks nice on their CV, Dorte concludes.

Programme and subject descriptions are available at ASB's website under the Summer University link.

The deadline for registration is 15 March.
