The research project “University dropout rates” (Frafald på universitetet)

What make students drop out of university? Do upper secondary school grades affect how students perform at university? What effect does the study progress reform have on dropout rates?

On Wednesday August 14 all students currently enrolled at Aarhus BSS received an e-mail via Blackbord, which informed about the research project 'Drop-out rates at the university '. The message is a briefing on a current research project and its use of personal data, and is not specifically aimed at individual students. However, it is mandatory to send this information, as the research project will use personal data from the study administration systems.

The aim of the research project is to gain a better understanding of the dynamics related to student dropout rates in a Danish context. A better understanding will allow for a more targeted exploitation of the resources allocated to the educational system - and it will help universities increase the student completion rates for the benefit of society and students.

If you have any questions on how we process your personal data, you are always welcome to contact our Data Protection Officer at dpo@au.dk

You can find more information about the research project and how the personal data is used in the enclosed PDF-file.
