Application and approval

If you are planning to do a project-based study, you must register for this via the Self Service on mitau.dk within the registration period for course registration.

Besides the registration via mitau.dk, you need to apply for approval of your project-based study. The application for approval consists of two parts:

  1. Before you begin your project-based internship, you must submit a written application for preapproval.
  2. After your project-based internship, you must submit a written application for final approval.

Pre-approval

You must apply for a pre-approval before you start your project-based internship. Otherwise, your project-based internship cannot be credited as part of your degree programme.

The application must be send in electronically through mystudies.au.dk via the form “Preliminary approval for courses outside AU". The fields in this form are not all relevant in connection with a project-based internship, but we ask you to fill out the form and the fields as good as you can. For example, when asked about the university, put down the name of the work placement host organisation. Fill out the fields so that they contain the necessary information.

The application for preapproval must contain:

From you:

  • What you are applying for:
    • The project-based internship for which you are applying for preapproval.
    • How many seminars you want the project-based internship to be credited for

From internal supervisor:

  • Documentation that he or she has agreed to be your supervisor

From the workplace:

  • Documentation that the project-based internship is of a formal nature
  • A description of the responsibilities and tasks as well as the scope of the work
  • Name of external supervisor

Please note that the processing time for the application may be up to eight weeks.

Final approval

The application must be send in electronically through mystudies.au.dk via the form “Credit for courses outside AU". The fields in this form are not all relevant in connection with a project-based internship, but we ask you to fill out the form and the fields as good as you can. For example, when asked about the university, put down the name of the work placement host organisation. Fill out the fields so that they contain the necessary information.

The application form for the final approval must contain:

From you:

  • What you are applying for: (refer to your preapproval)
    • The project-based internship for which you are applying for final approval
    • How many seminars you want the project-based internship to be credited for

In addition, please fill out the questionnaire “Questionnaire for the trainee“

From internal supervisor:

  • Documentation from your supervisor that he/she has approved your final report.

From the host organisation:

  • Documentation for the scope and execution of the specified tasks and responsibilities including number of hours worked (it is not sufficient to refer to your project-based internship agreement)

Please note: The application for the final approval must be submitted no more than six months after you have completed your project-based internship, and that the processing time for the application may be up to eight weeks.
