Time and venue: The meeting will take place on 30 November from 15:00-17:00 in building 1910, room 217 (EDU-IT classroom)
Streaming: Parts of the meeting will be streamed live: LINK
About the meeteing
Atthe meeting, Assistant Professor Marta Victoria from the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at AU, will unveil a new research project on solar energy on AU’s rooftops, which will help reduceAU’s CO2emissions. The core of the research project is the creation of an energy community that you can become a part of before the project is launched (Jan 2022). In addition, the afternoon will offer opportunities to network with other students and employees as well as a status on the progress of AU’s green transition.
About the research project
The AURORA project aims at creating energy communities out of existing university communities in four technical universities in Europe (Aarhus, Madrid, Ljubljana and Évora). To that end, a solar rooftop installation will be crowdsourced by members of every energy community (students and university employees). The energy communities also aim at fostering actions led by citizens enabling collective and individual behavioral change. The citizens will provide data to carry out studies on how people’s behaviour can impact the energy transition models. The project will start in December 2021 and run for 3.5 years.
The network is using Facebook as a communication channel and is therefore set up as a group under Aarhus University's Facebook page.
If you would like to be informed about meetings and events in the network, but you are not a member of FB, please send an email to email@example.com.
