AU Green Network

Join the AU Green Network today

Aarhus University have established a green network for students and employees at the university.

The network is used for brainstorming ideas, sharing information/events and to access knowledge about how we can make Aarhus University even more green. We do this via our FB group and at our network meetings.

The next meeting will take place on 30 November from 15:00 to 17:00

  • 15:45: Presentation: How can we make AU greener through research? Marta Victoria, an assistant professor of engineering at AU, will be presenting a brand new research project on solar energy on the university's rooftops that will help reduce AU’s carbon emissions.
  • 16:45: Floor open for discussion
  • 17:00: End of meeting.

About the research project
The AURORA project aims at creating energy communities out of existing university communities in four technical universities in Europe (Aarhus, Madrid, Ljubljana and Évora). To that end, a solar rooftop installation will be crowdsourced by members of every energy community (students and university employees). The energy communities also aim at fostering actions led by citizens enabling collective and individual behavioral change. The citizens will provide data to carry out studies on how people’s behaviour can impact the energy transition models. The project will start in December 2021 and run for 3.5 years.
