A section of Bartholins Allé will be closed in week 51

Drivers in the University Park may need to take a detour between 15 and 19 December, as a section of Bartholins Allé will be closed to allow for lake maintenance. Read more about the road closure and alternative route below.

If you’re planning to drive through the University Park between 15 and 19 December, please be aware that Bartholins Allé will be cordoned off between the courtyard in front of the Bartholin Building and the entrance to the delivery area behind the building.

This may affect the route you take. A diversion will be in place along Wilhelm Meyers Allé, Ole Worms Allé and Karl Verners Vej in both directions, and it will still be possible to drive into the University Park along Bartholins Allé and to turn left by the Lakeside Lecture Theatres. The entrance to Karl Verners Vej from Langelandsgade will also remain open.

The road closure is necessary to make way for maintenance work on the lake in the University Park, which is the venue for the annual student Regatta. The lake needs to be drained and cleaned, and the stonework along the lake needs to be restored.

Please refer to the map below to see the road closure (marked in red) and the diversion (marked in green). The pavement will remain open for pedestrians and cyclists on foot with their bikes.

The diversion will be signposted at the road closure and access roads. The closure indicated on the map is subject to change.

AU Estates Projects and Development estimates that the lake cleanup will be completed by 31 March 2026. No other road closures are planned after week 51.
