New graduate school
The Graduate School of Science and Technology opened on 1 October.
The graduate schools at the former DJF and NAT – SAFE and AGSoS – were officially replaced on 1 October by a joint institution called the Graduate School of Science and Technology (GSST). The previous PhD programmes and fields have been replaced by thirteen new organisational PhD programmes – one for each of the twelve departments plus nanoscience.
Most of the changes are of an organisational nature and have no significance regarding the study content or period for the more than 750 PhD students attending GSST. A provisional set of joint regulations for the new graduate school is available at http://science.au.dk/en/studies/phd-studies/. This website is still under construction, but the intention is that, in addition to general information, supervisors and students will soon be able to find easily accessible manuals and templates for use at different stages of the PhD process.
The deadline for the first round of admissions and fellowship applications at GSST is 1 November, and four notices per year are expected to be posted in future. See the graduate school’s website for more details.
