The revamped Godsbanen is a production center for performing art, visual art, and literature, but overall there are great expectations for the center to contribute to the appeal of Aarhus in the international cultural sphere. The new Godsbanen Production Center for Culture will play a central role in Aarhus' candidacy to become the European Capital of culture in 2017.

The official opening took place on Friday, the 30th of March at 13.15 at Godsbanen, Skovgaardsgade 3-5, where, among others, Minister of Culture Uffe Elbæk, Counsellor for Culture and Citizens Marc Perera Christensen, and Director of Realdania Hans Peter Svendler were present.

After the grand opening of the center, we can expect events such as the Sound and Literature Festival (Lyd- og Litteraturfestival) on April 17th, which will be a collaboration between literature, music and sound art. For more information, to see photos, or to see the rest of the upcoming program for the spring, visit the Production Center's website at www.godsbanen.dk.
