The results of this year’s university elections are in, and the names of the students who will have seats on the university's councils and committees in the coming year have been announced. 133 newly elected student and PhD representatives are ready to get to work – and in the coming year, they will have the opportunity to make their mark on central discussions about educational quality and the academic environment.

Twenty per cent voted
University elections are held every year, but there is a four-year election cycle that determines which seats on which bodies are up for election and who can vote. This time, only students and PhDs were eligible to vote. Voter turnout this year ended at 20% (19,99 %)– about five per cent higher than in 2021, when a comparable election was held.

25 contested elections
There were 25 contested elections this year, i.e. elections in which it is possible to vote for different candidates. That’s more than in 2021, when there were 17 contested elections.

Nineteen elections were cancelled due to lack of candidates.

Fifty-one candidates were elected in uncontested elections – elections where exactly the number of candidates that need to be used is listed, and they are thus automatically elected without a vote.

Voter turnout for the contested elections varied significantly across elections to local boards, councils and committees. This year's top scorer was a turnout of 52.71% for the board of studies for history and classical studies at the School of Culture and Society.
