Several car parks will be blocked off 3 -16 September in and around the University Park in connection with Denmark’s Biggest Friday Bar
On Friday 12 September, AU students will hold their annual sports day and ‘Denmark’s Biggest Friday Bar’ event in the University Park. Please be ad-vised that some car parks in the University Park will be unavailable before, during and after the event. A few car parks will be closed from early September. Get the details below.
If you usually park on or near the University Park campus, please be aware that some car parks in this area will be unavailable before, during and after the students’ annual sports day and Friday bar, which will take place on 12 September this year. Two of these car parks (next to buildings 1540 and 1171) will be unavailable for a longer period of time.

The car parks that will be unavailable are shown on the map above.There will be signs in the affected car parks with information about the closures. Be aware that these plans are subject to change.
The car parks next to buildings 1540 and 1171 will be unavailable for a longer period. This is because all of the equipment and materials needed to set up the festival site will be delivered to and distributed from these two car parks. This includes things like fencing, road plates, materials for stages, shipping containers, portable toilet units and so on. These cark parks are being closed for everyone’s safety, and every effort will be made to minimise disruption.
The students organisers behind the event would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience the closures may cause, and kindly ask for your understanding and patience.

About Denmark’s biggest Friday bar and sports day On 12 September 2025, the annual student sports day and Friday bar will take place in the University Park. The event organisers are the Student Council and Aarhus Universitets-Sport. As always, the day will begin with athletic competitions between degree programmes. Students will compete in a variety of team sports, including football, volleyball, basketball and ultimate frisbee. Later in the day, there will be activities and music on the square's two stages, and the University Park will be transformed into a huge outdoor Friday bar. |
