On the night of 17 April, conciliator Mette Christiansen decided to postpone the strike and lockout for up to two weeks. Unless the negotiating parties reach a compromise – or an impasse – before the end of the two-week period, this means that the strike will begin on 8 May and the lockout will begin on 12 May. Aarhus University is still watching developments closely and is carefully considering how the situation may affect teaching and exams.
If the negotiations break down within the two-week period, the strike and the lockout may begin simultaneously five days after the official conciliator declares the end of negotiations. If this happens, there is no possibility of postponing the labour dispute further.
