Career Management Skills (CMS)

Career Management Skills:
3rd semester master students

The course 'Career Management Skills' is only for 3rd semester master students. For the students who are going for an internship, they are offered a different CMS course which is mandatory, and it is already in their schedule. They don't need to sign up here, but can read more information on Blackboard.

The Career Management Skills course will make you better prepared for the next big step in life: Your first job.

As a participant, you will learn how to translate your theoretical knowledge into specific and communicable competences. You will acquire a number of practically applicable tools which you can use to reflect on your own competences and career aspirations from a professional as well as a personal perspective.

Statements from former participants:

  • “Crazy useful”
  • “Helped me know myself better, and started the journey of discovering my competences on a deeper level.“
  • ”Interesting and useful for understanding what is expected from us as young professionals and how to position ourselves on the job market.

What is the content?

CMS is a 3-session career course. It is designed to enable 3rd semester master students to learn more about their own skills, preferences, and possibilities after graduation. All three sessions are 3-hour sessions with a mix of lecture and workshop.

  • Session 1: What motivates me in my career?
  • Session 2: What do employers expect from me?
  • Session 3: Which skills make me unique?

Why participate?

As a student, you don’t often have the time to reflect on who you are, which qualifications you hold, and what you want to do in your professional life. This course offers you time and space for reflection.

All of this is extremely important because your future employer wants you to:

  • Know yourself and your skills
  • Be able to communicate those skills
  • Be aware of how you can contribute
  • Know about employer needs

... and this course can help you with that.

When is it?

All sessions take place on campus Fuglesangs Allé
Each session will be held in English.
