My team won the competition, and together with another programmer, I am now in the middle of negotiating a full-time contract with a restaurant chain.

16 students in the event “iPad completion” arranged by Career Steps at AU Herning. The purpose was to develop an IPad app that gives users the possibility to purchase the “Trunte Lunte” book series electronically. The prize for the winning group was a DKK 2.000 gift voucher and an honorary sales provision for the number of apps sold.

Elena Violeta Tanasoiu, a 3rd semester student at the MSc in Engineering study programme explains:

"My team won the competition, and Anne Moulvad (the author of “Trunte Lunte”) offered me to continue developing the application. So now we plan to launch the app together with one of her new books in November. In addition, Anne has put me in contact with A Hereford Beefstouw (a restaurant chain) as they needed a developer for their IT system. Together with another programmer, I am now in the middle of negotiating a full-time contract with the restaurant.

I enjoyed participating in the iPad competition, and I was amazed that my team managed to create a functioning iPad application in two days! If you had asked me if we would have been able to do that, I would have responded with a very convincing “no”.

I believe the iPad competition has helped me a great deal, and I would gladly participate in any similar event in the future. In fact, I think this was one of the best events I have ever attended at AU Herning."
