Vestas is the global leader in wind energy with a business of designing, producing, installing and servicing wind turbines. We have more than 32,000 employees worldwide with global headquarters in Aarhus as well as technology centres in Porto and Chennai and a global manufacturing footprint.
Vestas is a key player in decarbonization of the energy sector, and our products annually help the World avoid emissions of 231 mill. tonnes of CO2e. With a demand for tripling the capacity of wind generation towards 2030 in order to stay on track for Net Zero, Vestas is determined to lead the energy transition and become the global leader in renewable energy.
In the department for New Concepts & Power-to-X, we work on new technologies and ideas that will support Vestas’ products in the long term.
Student projects will typically be feasibility studies and general technology development. Typical subjects would be material science, aerodynamics, electrodynamics and optics.
Example projects:
We expect the project student to be independent, curious, and enterprising. A large part of the project work will be carried out independently, so the student must be able to find information individually. We also expect the student to spend time at Vestas’ office in Aarhus N on a regular basis.
We expect to get qualified feedback on the project. Furthermore, we wish to broaden the knowledge about Vestas as workplace as well as contribute to educating candidates with relevant knowledge for the wind energy sector.
The student can expect to work in a global, technical environment with a large degree of cross-disciplinary work. Apart from learning the scientific foundation of wind energy, the student will learn how to structure project work in a business environment.
