Bf.42 Observational Astronomy

Contents
The course deals with conceptions, methods and instruments applied in observational astronomy. The emphasis is on astrometry, photometry and spectroscopy in the optical region including telescopes and detectors.
Practical work will include handling of observational data using software and databases available on the internet.
The course may be followed up by individual projects consisting of reduction and analysis of own observations or data from e.g. the Hubble Space Telescope archive.
