Are you interested in sustainability? Join Circle U.nited for Sustainability
Would you like to explore sustainability from different academic angles? And are you up for spending 5 days in Berlin with students from all over the Europe? Then sign up to this spring’s Circle U.nited for Sustainability-programme.
Now you have the chance to dive into the topic of sustainability together with students and lecturers from all over Europe. Circle U. - AU’s university alliance - is now inviting students from the alliance universities to join this spring's Circle U.nited for Sustainability programme. Here students will learn about sustainability and explore the topic from different academic and practical perspectives.
The programme consists of an online part (four Wednesdays in February/March) and an in-person week in Berlin from 27 April to 1 May. You can only apply to go to Berlin if you have taken part in the online sessions. To apply, you must have attended at least two online sessions – and the more sessions you have attended, the better chance you have to go to Berlin.
Explore sustainability in interesting online sessions
In the four online sessions, the topic of sustainability is explored from different perspectives. All sessions take place from 18:15 to 20:00 on the following dates:
- 4 February: Global environmental problems & social justice
- 18 February: Green transitions in Europe
- 4 March: Inequality, justice & colonial perspectives
- 18 March: Co-creating change: shaping a sustainable Europe

5 exciting days in Berlin
The in-person part of Circle U.nited for Sustainability consists of a 5-day programme at Humboldt University in Berlin on 27 April to 1 May 2026. The programme will consist of presentations, workshops and case studies – and there will of course be time for socialising and fun events.
AU is able to finance the travel and accommodation expenses for 5 students.
Students who have participated in the online sessions will automatically receive a link to apply to the programme in Berlin. The participants will then be selected among the applicants and those selected will be notified directly.
