Shutdown of IT systems will affect exams at AU on Tuesday 14 December

On Monday, Aarhus University was forced to shut down web access to a number of IT systems. As a consequence, some written exams scheduled for Tuesday 14 December have been cancelled. If you have exams scheduled for this date, please check your local study portal and Brightspace for more information.

IT-shutdown affects exams

STADS, MitStudie,Wiseflow and Digital Eksamen are among the systems that have been shut down, and users only have limited access to them at the moment.

Students who have written exams on 14 December will be informed of whether their exams will proceed as scheduled via post.au.dk. If your exam is cancelled, you will be notified of the new date and time directly.

Aarhus University’s IT department would like to emphasise that no security breach has been identified at Aarhus University. However, a vulnerability in the software used by many of AU’s systems has been identified which made it necessary to shut down web access to these systems immediately.

While web access to these systems is shut down, the IT department will perform a scan of all of AU’s systems to determine which installations are affected by the security flaw.

Keep an eye on your study portal

At the moment, we don’t know how long it will be necessary to keep web access to these systems shut down. So if you have exams coming up, it’s important that you keep an eye on post.au.dk and your local study portal.

Please contact your local IT support team if you have any questions about access to IT systems. As soon as we know more, we will inform you, either on the AU website or by email. Contact your local IT support team

The reason we have shut down these systems is to prevent cybercriminals from taking advantage of the vulnerability in the software.
