Remember to log on Zoom with your AU ID

Have you ever been kicked off Zoom in the middle of group work? Then it might be because you have forgotten to log on with your AU ID. Always use your AU ID when accessing Zoom – it’s safer and more user-friendly.

When you use Zoom in connection with your studies, it’s very important that every time you log on, you use your AU ID with SSO (Single Sign-On), which has the same password as the one you use for Blackboard, mitstudie.au.dk, etc. This means that you are using AU’s official solution for Zoom, which will give you a far better and more secure Zoom experience – whether you are using Zoom for group work or classes.

The benefits of using AU’s own Zoom solution are:

  • you get a far safer solution when it comes to protection of personal data.
  • you can use Zoom for up to 24 hours at a time instead of the 40 minutes you get if you use the free version or the standard version on Zoom’s website. This way you avoid being kicked off Zoom in the middle of your group work.
  • your own name appears on the screen when you raise your hand and ask questions during classes – and that makes it much easier for the teacher to moderate class discussions, divide you into smaller groups, put you into breakout rooms, etc.

How to log on to Zoom with your AU ID

When you open Zoom on your laptop, your tablet or your mobile, please follow the steps below:

1.      Click Sign In

2.      Click Sign in with SSO

3.      Write Aarhusuniversity in the domain name and click Continue

4.      Then you will be asked to log on through WAYF with your AU ID, just like you usually do
