As a general rule, students are expected to be present for 100% of the scheduled teaching hours, as it is a full-time study program. For courses with attendance requirements, students must be present for at least 80% of the scheduled teaching hours. Additionally, there may be other specific requirements such as presentations during the course. For more detailed information, refer to the course description in the course catalogue. Attendance is a prerequisite for taking the exam in the subject.
If the attendance requirement is not met, the following consequences apply to bachelor seminars, elective seminars, and master seminars:
Ordinary Exam
If you have not met the attendance requirement and wish to participate in the ordinary exam, please read below on how to proceed. You must submit one discussion assignment per absence beyond 20%. The discussion assignment should have a length of a minimum of 3 normal pages and a maximum of 4 normal pages per missed teaching session beyond 20%. (1 normal page equals 2,400 characters including spaces). The assignment should answer 1-3 questions related to the content of the teaching session you missed. The instructor can either ask the questions or request the student to formulate the questions. This will be clarified with each individual lecturer. If the student is required to formulate the questions, they must be approved by the lecturer prior to answering. If you have multiple absences beyond the 20%, you must submit multiple discussion assignments depending on the number of absences. The assignment(s) must be submitted at a time determined by the lecturer prior to the ordinary exam. It is important that you contact the lecturer regarding the questions, their approval, and the submission deadline. The specific lecturer sets the deadlines.
