Aarhus Explorers

Do you want an insight into life in Denmark? Do you want to get to know the Danes and make new friendships? Then this community is for you: Aarhus Explorers is a community where you, other internationals and Danish ambassadors explore Aarhus together.

By participating in the programme, you will get to know both Danish and international students across the university. This is a brilliant way to grow your personal network, socialise, and make new friendships.

The purpose of the programme is to encourage Danish students to engage with and show new international students the way of life in Aarhus. For international students, this is a chance to network and meet different students across the university.

Each month, you’ll be invited to take part in a social or cultural event. The activities change every year. In the past we have been to football matches together, had a dinner and quiz nights, and ended by celebrating Christmas with Danish “hygge”, æbleskiver and pakkeleg.

You can always show up for the monthly meet up in StudenterhusAarhus. There is a small annual fee.

Why participate in Aarhus Explorers?

  • Meet fellow international and Danish students
  • Practice Danish in a safe enviroment
  • Have a Danish mentor
  • Have fun!

Why be part of the Aarhus Explorers network?

"The big, organized events that we arranged were nice because there I could engage with more people from other groups and not be isolated in just my own little group"

Ivan from Bulgaria, MSc in Computer Science

"It was a nice combo to eat good and being able to socialize with other internationals and Danes. Especially the I liked the juleafslutning, quiz night, and the nights we met and had dinner together"

Tamar from the Netherlands, MA in Cognitive Science

"Besides the free food and the free drinks, the Dare to Danish (ed. Aarhus Explorers) group was nice to meet up with. I am now a volunteer at the Student House so I became friends with people from the house. I practiced and talked a bit Danish with my ambassador - that's nice".

Lasse from Germany, MSc in Physics
