What is a take-home assignment?

A written examination as take-home assignment encompasses:

  • Free written assignments
  • Assigned written tasks
  • Projects/written assignments followed by an oral defense
  • Bachelor projects and theses

In the context of written home assignments, we utilize the examination system WISEflow.

During your exam

Resources

When your exam is a written home assignment, you are generally permitted to use all resources. For specific guidelines regarding permissible resources, refer to the course page in the course catalog. Naturally, it's essential that you formulate and write your assignment independently.

Assistance for your process

You can find helpful tips for assignment writing on Studypedia.

If something goes wrong

If something goes awry along the way, and you're unable to complete your exam on time, you may be able to apply for an exemption.

How to submit your exam

Submission deadline

In your exam schedule, you can find the submission deadline for your answer.

For your answer to be accepted, it must be submitted before the submission deadline for your exam. Therefore, it's a good idea to be early with your submission so that any unforeseen issues can be addressed before the submission deadline.

The examination system closes precisely at the submission deadline, and it's the clock in WISEflow that governs. If the submission deadline is at 12:00 PM, you must upload your answer before 12:00 PM.

Verify that you have received a receipt

After submitting, you will receive an email with a receipt confirming that your submission was made on time. Additionally, you will be able to see a receipt once you have clicked "Submit". Remember to check your receipt to ensure that you have submitted correctly.

How to submit as a group in WISEflow

Here's how you proceed if you have an exam as a group:

Create the group in WISEflow

  • If the flow is set up for group submission, choose "Create group" when you log in to WISEflow.
  • Enter a group name in the top field "Group name".
  • Select the other members from the list.
  • Once you have chosen all group members, click on "Create group".

Accept the invitation in WISEflow

  • Your fellow students, whom you have added to the group, must now accept the invitation.
  • This also takes place in WISEflow. They can see the group invitation under the selected flow.

Submitting the assignment

  • When you submit your assignment in WISEflow, only one member of the group needs to upload and submit the assignment and any attachments.
  • The rest of the group members just need to ensure they are part of the group by accepting the group invitation.

After your exam

After you have submitted your exam, you will receive a receipt in your AU email. On the receipt page, you can view your submission.

When will I receive my grade?

As soon as your grade is entered into the examination system, you will be able to see it either by logging on to mitstudie.au.dk or by logging on to STADS. Your grade will be entered no later than the day when the assessment deadline is set.

Can I receive feedback on my exam?

You are not entitled to receive feedback on your exam.

However, you are always welcome to contact the course coordinator to inquire about the possibility of receiving feedback. You can find the name and contact information of the course coordinator in the course catalog.
