How to get a key

Keys and access to buildings are provided by the secretariat in building 1135, 2nd floor.

Opening hours for key collection are Tuesdays and Thursdays between kl. 10:00 - 12:00. Look for the "Enquiry office" sign on the office doors to find out which office you should enter in order to enquire about or collect your key.

To receive a key, please complete the key form below. If you have completed the key form online and are unable to collect your key during opening hours, you will find your key in the pigeonhole, marked "Keys", in the mail rooms in buildings 1540, 1131 or 1135 on Tuesday and Thursday in the following week from 13:00.

Access to buildings (access card)

Entrance doors to AU buildings are locked between 17:00- 7:00 on weekdays and on weekends and public holidays.

You can order an access card yourself. It must be activated by a member of the secretariat before use - come by during opening hours or send an email to one of the contacts.

Guests cards are on loan for a maximum of 3 months and are provided by a member of the secretariat during opening hours.

Return of keys and guest access card

Keys and guest access cards must be returned to the secretariat at the end of your contract or stay. NOTE: Keys and guest access cards are personal and may not be handed over to others. You may return keys and guest access cards in the mailbox (marked "Key return") at the entrance of building 1135. All keys and cards have an ID number, which enables us to track the owner.

Department of Computer Science

Card Access at Computer Science

From the 1st of December 2019, the administrative personnel at Department of Computer Science will handle all requests regarding card access at the buildings linked to Department of Computer Science.

This includes:

  • Granting/removing permissions to buildings under Department of Computer Science for both students and staff
  • Revalidating, in case of exceeded expiration date
  • Handling setting up access permissions for new students - this does not include ordering access cards (see below)

This means that ST Byg 3 will no longer be your first contact about requests and/or issues with card access.

All requests should be addressed to cardaccess@cs.au.dk. Your requests should, as a minimum, include affiliation with Department of Computer Science, and your AUID.

Response times will vary based on the complexity of the request, but regular access-permission requests will be handled as soon as possible, normally within 1-2 business days.

Active students will automatically be given card access for one year at a time. This will be updated the first day of the fall semester each year.

If you are an active student, but your card is denied when trying to access, you should reapply to cardaccess@cs.au.dk as soon as possible.

cardaccess@cs.au.dk does not handle procurement of access cards. For students and PhD's, these still have to be ordered through your personal login page at http://mit.au.dk, and for staff, including PostDoc, through https://medarbejdere.au.dk/en/administration/au-planning/access-card/nat-tech-ordering-access-card-aarhus/

Please note that if you have ordered a new card, your access profiles will have been cancelled and your card will not work right away. You have to write to us to get the access profiles reactivated.

Pincodes for cards are generated through https://pinkode.au.dk/
