Ph.D. course, Spring, 1 credits, 5 ECTS

Forskeruddannelses course for past and future Speciale Students.



Aims

To discuss at leisure a complex issue in evolutionary ethology, ecology, ecology and morphology.



Content

A mixture of brief lectures and long group discussion seminars culminating in joint written project outlines.



Teaching curriculum

The course will be a residential block course of 1 week in Rønbjerg, in late spring possibly week 16 or 17. The course will be in English and we will have external teachers.



Prerequisites

Knowledge and interest in all or either: morphology, ethology, ecology and life history.



Teacher

Peter Funch and 2/3 external VIPS.



Credit

1 (incl. Ph.D. programme).



Examination

No final examination will be given but students must complete their chosen project in Rønbjerg.

Max. 16.

None but we expect you to have studied at least one of the following books or a similar work:

Begon-Harper-Townsend: Ecology

Alcock: Animal Behaviour

Nielsen: Animal Evolution

Cockburn: Evolutionary Ecology

Stearns or Roff: Life-History

Ridley or Futuma: Evolution

Darwin: Origin.
