Aims

To provoke the participants to view their work in biology in an evolutionary context.



Content

Lecture series by distinguished guests and teachers from the biology faculty on research topics in evolutionary biology.

Prerequisites: broad background in biology

Teaching curriculum: one week at Rønbjerg Marine Station with about 15 hrs. of lectures, accompanying discussion sessions and discussions of the research projects of the students. This part of the course corresponds to 0.5 credit. To obtain one credit the Ph.D. student must attend five additional institute seminars. Only seminars marked beforehand as relevant for the course will be accepted.

Planner: The Ph.D. committee under the Institute of Biological Science will every year appoint a course coordinator and select an overall theme for the course. All research departments under the institute are expected to contribute.

Limit on number attendees: 20

Additional remarks: This course is primarily organized for Ph.D. students and these will be given first priority in case of limited capacity. Teaching will be in English except in cases where the instructors and all participants are Danish speaking.
