This course deals with the structure and internal dynamics of molecules and the relationship between these and observable macroscopic properties. Topics covered include the interaction between molecules and electromagnetic radiation, techniques of molecular spectroscopy, rotation and vibration of molecules, atomic and molecular orbitals, chemical reactions and quantum-mechanical calculations.
