Sedimentary petrology:Depositional processes and their relation to structures, textures and composition of sediments. Provenance and maturity of sediments. Diagenesis. Reservoir properties. Practicals in sedimentary petrology (petrographic microscope, X-ray methods, chemical analyses).
2L+2P/week, spring term. Sedimentology: Sedimentary environments and facies. Relation between tectonic evolution and sedimentology. Sandstone geometry.
2L+2P/week, fall term.

Excursion/Field course: 14 days in Tremp-Graus Basin, Spanish Pyrenees. Basin evolution and fill, sedimentary processes and facies models.
