Detailed literature study of the geology of Denmark with emphasis on sediments and their fossils, as well as the methods and principles which have been used in the investigation of Danish geology. The student is introduced to the problems related to currently accepted results. The history of geological investigation is presented together with the relevant literature. The main features of the geology of Greenland are presented.

Excursions and field courses: Northern Jutland or Funen/southern Jutland (Quaternary- Cretaceous) 4 days; Bornholm and Scania (Mesozoic and Palaeozoic sediments) 5 days; southern Jutland (Quaternary stratigraphy) 5 days.
