Climate through time

The course deals with the main mechanisms, which govern the climate, e.g., plate tectonics, solar insolation, as well as ocean and atmospheric circulation. Both processes that in a geological perspective have long- and short-term influence on the climate will be included. The main focus will be the Quaternary period, inclueding historical time. The course will concentrate on examples of different investigation methods, with main emphases on studies of marine environments.
