Mailing lists

Student organizations can get a distribution list in Outlook. You can read about the possibilities on this page.

NOTE! As a student, you cannot create a distribution list. Students are instead offered a solution in the Mailman system. Read more about Mailman.

How to set up a distribution list

Student organizations can get a distribution list in Outlook by contacting their local IT-Support. IT-support will need the following information:

  1. Who is the owner of the distribution list?
    • All distribution lists must have an owner, identified by an AU ID.
    • The owner is responsible for ensuring that the distribution list is up to date. Contact your local IT support if changes need to be made.
  2. Who should be added to the distribution list?
    • Provide the names and AU IDs of the desired members for the distribution list.
  3. Naming the list?
    • Provide a desired name for the list, e.g. #sekretariat, student council
  4. Who should be allowed to send emails to your distribution list?
    • Everyone in the world - with or without moderator
    • Everyone in the shared email and calendar system - with or without moderator
    • All students - with or without moderator
    • Only participants on the list - with or without moderator
    • Only specifically approved people
