Parental leave

The mother may be exempted from the enrolment requirement from and including the semester in which the due date of birth is placed.

In addition, the mother and the partner may be exempted from the enrolment requirement on account of maternity/paternity leave when the following conditions are met:

  1. That the maternity/paternity period is held before the child has reached the age of one-and-a-half years.
  2. That the extension of the study period resulting from the maternity/paternity leave period does not exceed one year.

The maternity/paternity leave may be combined with the sharing of semesters to the extent that the semesters allow this. This requires that the total study period extension for maternity/paternity leave and the sharing of semesters does not exceed one year.

It is up to the student to account for a future study plan that complies with these criteria.
