Students are allowed to work on a subject of their own choice. The aim is to give students the opportunity to practise the arts of posing a question, obtaining the relevant information, analysing this information and communication the results in written form. The project may be everything from a theoretical treatment of a broadly defined, transdisciplinary topic, to an empirical research project on one particular question.
Projects are completed under the anspices of a steering group, consisting of four teachers from the biological institutes.
They can be completed by individuals or by groups of students. These are supervised by a person competent in the field, which may be a teacher from the biological institutes or any other person with a professional connection to the topic.
