All written exams scheduled for 4 January have been cancelled
This morning, the police advised everyone to stay home and avoid driving if possible. For this reason, AU has decided to cancel all written on-site exams in Aarhus and Herning today. We are now working to reschedule these exams as quickly as possible.
The university very rarely cancels exams. So yesterday, the university allowed students who were able to get to their exams to take them. But this morning, the police advised the public to stay home and stay off the roads until 14:00 this afternoon, and the East Jutland Police has also advised the university to cancel/postpone the on-site written exams scheduled to take place in Aarhus and Herning today, 4 January 2024. This decision was made to keep students and exam supervisors safe, explained Deputy Director Anna Bak Maigaard:
“I apologise to students and staff who we led to expect that exams would be conducted as planned today. Until the very last minute, we wanted to hold the possibility of conducting exams open, but in the current situation we have to assess developments from hour to hour. We can’t disregard the advice of the police. Now we’re doing everything we can to get the word out to students and reschedule the cancelled exams.”
All students who had exams scheduled today will be informed of the cancellation by AU email.
