Aim
To give an introduction to the structure and properties of proteins, carbohydrates and phospholipids; to methods
of analysis of proteins; to the mechanism and regulation of enzymes; and to the pathways and regulation of the basic energy metabolism.
Contents
The structure and function of proteins, carbohydrates and phospholipids, analysis and purification of proteins, free energy, chemical equilibrium and the mechanism and kinetics of enzymes, coupled processes and activated carriers in metabolism, the ATP-ADP cycle in biological energy transfer glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, citric acid and glyoxylate cycles, electron transport chain and oxidative phosphorylation.
