Rastergraphical Systems, 3D and Virtual Reality


Graphical systems are these years spreading into almost every application area of computer science. This course will try to give an overview of the most important concepts, models, techniques and systems for digital visualization.

The course will cover subjects like:
fundamental properties of the human visual system
fundamental properties of the digital visualization system
physical and tecnical properties of the external devices that are parts of a digital visualization system.
basic three-dimensional graphics
OpenGL programming
basic Virtual Reality

The course will contain a major obligatory project, that the students must finish in order to pass the course. The exact subject of the project is to be defined by the students during the start of the course, and accepted by the lecturer.

Literature
The course will be based on a number of books within the different subjects.

Expect that in the order of 2-3 books needs to be purchased during the course.
The selection of the books will be announced as soon as the decision have been
taken. For some of the books, this selection is first expected during the course.
