In this course, an introduction to statistical analysis of digital 2D and 3D images will be given. It will be discussed how to get information about quantitative properties of a continuous spatial structure from a digitized version of the structure. Various methods for removing noise from digital images will also be described, including smoothing methods and Bayesian methods.
