Student ID card and access to AU

Your Student ID Card is your key

You need your Student ID Card to enter buildings outside normal opening hours. You have access to the buildings related to your programme.

To enter a building, scan your student card and enter your PIN code.

Once you have received your student card, your PIN code will be sent to your official AU-email.

If you lose your Student ID Card

If you lose your card or if it is damaged, you must order a new one via My Studies

Your building access will not automatically be transferred to your new card.

Send an email to Building Services at Health to have your access to the buildings renewed or changed.

What do the numbers on your Student ID Card mean?

1. Student number

Your student number is your unique number and begins with the year you enrolled.

The administration uses this number to identify you, so it is very helpful if you include it whenever you contact the university.

2. Exam number

The exam number was previously used for anonymous exams at Health. At the moment, you do not need to use your exam number, as exams are now anonymised in a different way.

3. AU ID

Your AU ID is your username at AU. You will need it, for example, when logging in to the university’s IT systems.

4. Card number

The card number is a sequential number used by Building Services.
