Profile courses

Profile courses are interdisciplinary courses focusing on the labour market for Master’s degree students enrolled in the humanities degree programmes at the Faculty of Arts. Profile courses are placed on the third semester of your Master’s degree programme.

A profile consists of an obligatory constituent profile course of 20 ECTS and an elective profile course of 10 ECTS. You choose your elective profile course from a number of elective profile courses common to all five profiles.

Other options for the profile semester

Instead of choosing one of the five profiles for your profile semester, you can opt to study abroad or do an internship/field study. There are various options, and the rules for how you can spend your profile semester depend on the Master’s degree programme you are enrolled in. Please check your academic regulations or talk to your student counsellor to find out more about your degree programme’s options regarding internship/field study and studying abroad.

If you have any other questions regarding the profile semester, please consult the FAQ page.
